Summary

Due to rapid growth, BCA is in need of an Electrical Engineer to join our in-house controls group. To qualify for this position an individual must be capable meet the requirements below and have a minimum of 5 years of applicable experience. This position reports to the Electrical Engineering Manager.

Qualifications and Requirements:

    • BS Electrical Engineering
    • 3 plus years of control panel, schematic and wire run list design experience
    • 3 plus years’ experience with AutoCad, AutoCad Electrical or equivalent
    • Ability to design to and interpret all applicable standards (CE, IEC, NEC, NFPA, UL, TUV…)
    • Experience in the design and selection of panels and components for logic control, motion control, monitoring and safe operation of turn key industrial machinery

Essential Job Functions:

    • Design layout and schematics and wire pull schedules for control panels and junction boxes to be manufactured for machine control
    • Provide installation wire list for assembly of interconnection cables
    • Provide engineering support to panel suppliers and in-house electrical technicians
    • Parts selection including but not limited to:
      1. Circuit Breakers
      2. Terminal blocks,
      3. Terminal block modules,
      4. Power supplies
      5. PLCs
      6. Servos
      7. VFDs
      8. Sensors
      9. Pneumatics
    • Bill of material generation
    • Evaluate vendor components, develop specifications and analyze/select components
    • Work with sales, application engineers and potential customers to determine optimal solutions for automating their applications
    • Prepare control system costing and proposals
    • Create product functional specifications, equipment manuals and training manuals
    • Design/engineer pneumatic systems to meet application requirements
    • Provide input to mechanical engineering team on mounting and placement of field devices such as sensors

General Requirements Include:

    • AutoCad schematic drawing or electrical package experience
    • Proficient in MS Office products
    • Ability to rapidly diagnosis, trouble shoot and debug automated systems
    • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
    • Results oriented and innovative
    • Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
    • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and with deadlines
    • Ability to visualize a process or system from concept to development
    • Strong planning, organizational and decision-making skills
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, vendors and other stakeholders
    • Ability to travel up to 10-15%; sometimes being away for one to two weeks simultaneously
