Purpose of the Role
BCA is seeking an entry-level Control Panel Builder to join our team. They will, under general supervision and with training, execute the job responsibilities outlined below. Candidates must have a basic understanding of electrical wiring methods and standards.
The Electrical Control Panel Assembler’s role is to properly assemble customer control systems to company quality standards based on the engineering design of electrical control schematics, control panel layouts and bill-of material drawings using company-established best work practices.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Consistently follows company control panel building procedures and best practices
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace that complies with safety standards
- Proficient using the correct tools to efficiently complete the necessary tasks
- Proficient in reading & interpreting complex enclosure and sub-panel layout drawings
- Proficient in laying-out enclosure cut-outs without supervision
- Knowledgeable of drill and tap sizes, hole sizes, trade sizes
- Proficient at interpreting electrical drawing symbols and language
- Proficient at reading and interpreting complex electrical schematics
- Knowledgeable in wire types, wire sizes and wire colors
- Proficient at associating drawing symbols with bill-of-material components
- Proficient at quality mechanical abilities such as cutting, mounting of components etc.
- Proficient at accurately identifying, making, and applying panel and wire ID tags per the design drawings
- Displays professional workmanship to achieve required quality expectations
- Must be available to work weekly and Saturday overtime hours when needed
- US Travel required – additional travel pay rate
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- High School / Trade School diploma or equivalent
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- Able to be standing for long periods of time
- 2 years of relevant manufacturing experience
