Summary
Located in beautiful Newburyport Massachusetts, Boston Conveyor and Automation (BCA) has brought together a very experienced and successful team to focus on the automation processes in the food manufacturing, life science and general manufacturing industries. Due to rapid growth, BCA is in need of a hands on Manufacturing Manager.

Responsibilities
Manufacturing:
- Maintain and review production schedule daily and discuss priorities with shop supervision and engineering
- Prioritize production requirements
- Coordinate Cross training of employees in various areas
- Coordinate overtime as required. Cover as needed
- Create and distribute weekly production status reports
- Work with engineering on issues that occur during manufacturing
- Conduct weekly shop meetings
- Assist as needed in shop
HR:
- Interview and coordinate training of new employees
- Track employee attendance/hours
- Discipline employees as per company policies
- Conduct yearly evaluations of employees
Quality:
- Coordinate inspection of all equipment prior to shipment
- Assist with ISO 9001:2015 required monthly reporting and audits
- Coordinate special processes/testing as needed
- Coordinate and track any required training
Safety:
- Review areas of shop for any Safety issues. Communicate to Management
- Ensure employees are working safely daily
- Ensure PPE is being utilized
- Enforce Safety requirements and policies
- Create accident reports and follow through with safety improvements needed
- Coordinate monthly fire extinguisher checks
- Coordinate yearly evacuation drill
- Coordinate yearly Safety Audits
Inventory Control:
- Coordinate ordering of all inventory parts when levels are low
- Coordinate with employees if items need picked up or shipped
- Coordinate pulling of stock items for shipment
- Coordinate receiving of all products delivered
- Review jobs for past due items and coordinate with purchasing
Maintenance:
- Coordinate all Maintenance needs in shop
- Coordinate required PM’s of equipment
Design:
- Communicate with designers on issues or improvements that need to be addressed
- Attend kick off and design review meetings
General:
- Advise Management of any issues in regard to safety, scheduling/shipping commitments, required discipline for employees, machine maintenance needs, parts needed etc.
- Communicate any continuous improvement ideas and help implement
- Other tasks and responsibilities as needed
Experience
- Mechanical Aptitude: 3 years (Preferred)
- Assembly: 3 years (Preferred)
- Basic Hand tools: 3 years (Required)
- Mechanical Technician: 3 years (Required)
