Summary

Due to rapid growth, BCA is seeking a talented Automation Engineer to join our team. To qualify for this position an individual must be capable meet the requirements below and have a minimum of 5 years of applicable experience. This position reports to the Vice President of Operations.

Full-time

Responsibilities:

    • Design, specification, implementation, commissioning, trouble-shooting, and continuous improvement of automated systems for food & beverage and life science applications
    • Documentation of process sequence of operations
    • Specification of automation hardware and software
    • Development of process documentation including but not limited to sequence of operations, IO mapping etc.
    • Programming to include but not limited to:
      • PLC’s
      • HMI’s
      • Motion including complex multi axis servo systems
      • Robotics with line tracking
      • Machine vision, both integrated with robotics and stand alone
    • Support of:
      • Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) execution
      • Site start-up and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) execution
    • Project Management, scheduling, resource management & customer correspondence
    • Operational support
    • Control system troubleshooting support

Skills & General Requirements:

To qualify for this position, candidates should have the following skills and abilities:

    • Fanuc Karel programming
    • Third party vision integration with Fanuc Robots
    • General Fanuc robotics TP programming
    • Fanuc Roboguide experience
    • Rockwell programming (PLC, HMI, motion)
    • Vision system programming (Cognex, Fanuc, Keyence)
    • Automated system risk assessments
    • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
    • Results oriented and innovative
    • Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
    • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and with deadlines
    • Ability to visualize a process or system from concept to development
    • Strong planning, organizational and decision-making skills
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, vendors and other stakeholders
    • Ability to travel up to 25%; sometimes being away for one to two weeks simultaneously
